The Mini Zero Fog Blaster is a great little time waster for kids and adults, and as a bonus, the price is quite right…

At the first site of the Mini Fog Blaster after getting it in the mail, it looked like some cheap toy you would buy at Wall-Mart, however after closer inspection, it turned out to be pretty well put together. The plastic does not seem cheap (it is quite sturdy actually), and the product works quite well (we will discuss that in more detail later). The only thing I noticed was that the seams (where the plastic was put together) seem to be a little cheap looking in certain spots, but it really isn’t that noticeable (I’m just being picky ;-).

So exactly what does it do?

It shoots fog. OK, to be more specific, it actually shoots fog rings, and or just fog. All you have to do to get it to work is install 3 AAA batteries, fill up it’s small tank with the special fog fluid which you got with the Mini Zero Fog Blaster, hold the trigger lightly until you see the LED (Light Emitting Diode, or you could just think of it as a little light) and wait until fog starts coming out (takes about 10 seconds). Finally, to make fog rings, you tap the little ball at the end of it lightly, but quickly.

The Quality of the Fog

The fog blaster works great, however, I have noticed that depending on lighting conditions, you tend to see the fog more or less. However, squeezing the trigger more (or simply just holding it firmly longer) will generate more fog, allowing you to shoot darker fog rings. Finally, if you are a tad skeptical, it does work (and very well too). The fog rings look…well…like fog rings, and are perfectly round. And after about 4 seconds, the fog rings slowly come apart and float away. It looks pretty cool if you ask me.

It isn’t perfect unfortunately….

The main annoyance is that you have to wait about 10 seconds for the fog to start generating, however I don’t find that a big deal. The only other annoyance I noticed was that after using it for a long period of time, it doesn’t seem to work as well. Please note, through, that this is probably because after a while you tend to get impatient and press the trigger too hard (or too much). I noticed if you start pumping on the trigger a lot, and don’t wait 10 (time varies) seconds for the fog to generate by litely holding down the trigger, it tends not to work. This is no reason not to buy the product however, and it will only happen to the impatient people (like me…LOL).

One other thing I noticed was that after playing with it for a while the thing that you tap to shoot fog rings sticks a little. However, this can be easily solved by just tapping quickly, and not slowly ;-)

In conclusion, I think this is a great little toy for only $8, and for the quality of the product you are getting. Also, I would like to say that the little container of fog fluid they give you lasts almost literally forever. I have just filled the little tank on the fog blaster itself (the tank is about half the size of a penny), and after “creating” quite a few fog rings, the tank is still almost filled (and I haven’t even refilled it yet). Finally, it has a cool little “clipper”, so you can carry it around wherever you go on your backpack, key chain, belt loop, etc. You have to admit that is pretty cool ;-)

My Tips For Creating Great Fog Rings

  1. Be patient!
  2. Hold down the trigger and wait about 10 seconds. Then press down firmly on the trigger (not too hard though), and see if you hear a bubbling type sound. This notifies you that the fog fluid is being heated up and going up to the place where the fog comes out.
  3. If you followed my directions right on the last step, after about 5 seconds you will see quite a bit of fog coming out of the fog blaster. Tap the shooter (with the little yellow ball at the end) quickly. From my experiences, this produces the nicest looking fog rings, and makes them go further away than usual. Remember, just hit the yellow ball quickly, but don’t hit it so hard you break it. ;-)

If you followed my steps correctly, you will be one happy owner of your new Mini Zero Fog Blaster.
